Open Motion is for Everyone with an interest in real, meaningful wellness & vitality.

We are all about living our best life and offering the means to help you discover what wellness looks like for you, as an individual.

Our foundation is intelligent, meaningful movement- whether that’s yoga, strength, stability, mobility, or high intensity training, sport specific, cross training or injury rehabilitation. It’s about turning off the autopilot and moving from a place of mindful connection.

We offer private and semi-private sessions, group classes, corporate classes, and retreats for those that are interested in moving better, moving deeper and creating sustainable health and wellbeing.

No matter if you are just starting to find your feet or are an experienced practitioner we are here for those that want to fall in love with being healthy, with being the best version of themselves.

Our teachings come from an informed and inspired place- what we know about the body, movement, and health is ever changing as new knowledge comes to light. Therefore we are constantly studying, learning, and keeping up to date with these new technologies to offer you the most relevant and informed practices.

We hope to create a community that grows, supports, and nurtures each other as we celebrate the uniqueness of our own potential and purpose.

FOUNDER, OPEN MOTION

Born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, Laura hasn’t met a form of movement she doesn’t like. It started at a young age as an avid cross country runner and soccer player, then a passionate surfer, and in her late teens she discovered yoga.

After completing her 200HR yoga teacher training in 2012 and she began teaching and never looked back. Relocating permanently to Australia and feeling further inspired to expand her knowledge, she completed her Cert 3 & 4 in group fitness and personal training, following that with certifications in boxing, TRX suspension training, and cycle.

Forever curious, Laura has studied (and continues to study) various methodologies with some of the most inspiring teachers like Annie Carpenter (SMART Flow) and Tara Judelle (Embodied flow), before eventually becoming a student under Tiffany Cruikshank (Yoga Medicine).

Recently, she has completed her 500HR advanced certification with Yoga Medicine which has allowed her to dive even deeper into anatomy and the body by completing orthoepic modules on the hip, spine, and shoulder as well as modules on myofascial release, yoga for athletes, women’s health, yin, & meditation. It is from this deep and varied knowledge that she bases all her offerings.

Being passionate about all forms of movement, expect her classes and sessions to be a blend of different modalities with integrated and informed movement. She is passionate about inspiring her students to connect, look within, and honour their own unique journey.

Expect to be challenged yet nurtured, meet yourself with awareness, and find a place where you can connect.
